Where to watch: Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala)

The Sardinian Warbler is a common species in la Selva region, except in some deciduous forests of the northern mountains. The highest densities are found in the Mediterranean coastal forests (Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Vidreres,...). A good way to try to observe it is driving on the road between Lloret de Mar to Tossa, and stop at the viewpoints. These stops also allow us to observe other species typical of Mediterranean forest, such as the Dartford Warbler, scarce, Subalpine Warbler and the Blue Rock Thrush, and some seabirds.
Another option is to move inland. The area around Farners, Santa Coloma de Farners, has good populations of Sardinian Warbler, Dartford Warbler and Subalpine Warbler. This route is best done walking (is not a paved road).
